Case Study – How a transportation company doubled their business – NoeTrans.md

Noetrans.md is Moldovian based company that provides transportation services for people and packages from Republic of Moldova to France (Paris).

 

Challenges and Objectives

 

Transportation business can sometimes be a tricky business. In an area of high competition you have to fight sometimes for every $, and still loose your customers. 

There are periods when you don't have enough places in your buses to get the most out of this seasons and when you start your day at 8:00 AM with the 2 phones sticked to your ear only to unstick them at the end of the day. And there are other times, when you go with you buses half empty. The biggest challenge for NoeTrans was to stabilize this traffic. They started with one buss that generated an unstable revenue stream. 

Our method

To stabilize their revenue stream we started advertising on both Google and facebook. As we explain in the “3 Types of Potential Clients – and how to reach them” facebook helps us reach future potential clients. We targeted people from Moldova who had the potential of leaving to France, and Moldovians who leaved in France. This way we covered the warm ones.  

 

By the way. An interesting fact you wouldn't think would occur was this one. What add do you thing performed better? 

“The first one, of course”” you would say. But nope. In fact. The difference in costs per one page like was more than 5 times more expensive for the first ad. 5,65 to be exact. In the first case, a page like costs us $1.13 while in the second case, it costs $0.2. 

 

But what about those who want to order now – The hot ones? To get them we made NoeTrans appear on Google search page results via Google Ads.  

 

This worked. And what was the impact? 

The Results: what has changed?

In a few months they both the second buss. Basically their business had doubled. They increased the budget as they saw that leads are coming, and the system is working.

 

Now they know where their clients are coming from and all their leads are centralized in one place. Thanks to our effort to configure conversion tracking, they know what platforms are worth investing in and what platforms they should avoid. 

 

Today they continue to operate as one of the most famous company that provides transportation to Paris and Strasbourg from Chișinău.

Challenges and Objectives

 

As a small business, their biggest struggle was getting constant sales. The only way clients came was through recommendations. 

 

This is a good sign, especially if you are at the beginning, but they wanted more. Our constant frustration was seeing our competitors every ware online.  

They knew it's possible to get clients from Facebook. They knew there must be a way! But how? 

 

When we first met and get to know each other a bit, we understood their desire to get constant orders form Facebook.

 

Their problem was that there were periods during the year when the team was so busy that they hardly delivered the orders in time. 

 

But there were also the other periods, when as a business owner, Alex had to take some difficult decisions regarding his employees, due to no orders. 

 

His workers are payed for every kitchen produced and installed. So during this periods he had to cut out on his staff. 

The method

We started working together using our strategy. We explained him that there are 3 types of potential clients: cold, worm  and hot.   

 

Hot clients usually make effort to solve their problems. In his case, this were people who had their money in the pocket and are only looking now for someone to order their kitchen. And guess where thy are looking for to find someone who can help? Exactly, in the same place you look – Google.

 

The Warm ones are saving random content when it pops out on internet. For example, if you know you will have to do this latter.

 

The Cold ones don't even bother with buying. They don't have this problem now or don't see it as a problem.   

So we decided to invest in Google and Facebook advertising. While Google Ads (former AdWords) gave him hot leads, Facebook worked for future orders. Potential clients were starting to pile of in the form of fan page Likes. We helped him get from 200 to 18,000 Page Likes on Facebook.   

 

The point was that this page likes ware real people with the potential to became his clients in near future. After testing different audiences, we found that women from 35 to 50 y.o. where engaging more with hist content, so we targeted them as our audience. 

 

Also, using our methods, we ware able to optimize costs per page like and get them from $3.23 to $0.15. That's more than 21 X decrease!  

 

We did this for two years constantly. And this is where we got. 

The Results

First of all: his budget was spent wisely thanks to all the testing and optimization work we did.  

 

Second: in a few months people started writing him directly on Facebook to get a free quote for the furniture they wanted. Also we advised him to post some photos of each work they get done with a few words in the description. 

 

Third: Because we targeted the right audience (women 35+ Years old, that lived in his area) this women began commenting on his posts. They ware engaging with his content thus making it cheaper for him to boost his posts.

 

And finally, as he already has 18,000 Page likes, now every time he needs more orders, he just boots a few posts with $10-20. Women engage with them and he gets the job.  

 

He can finally control the amount of work he has. Now he can plan for workers and grow in a constant way. 

 

Things happen just as we predicted: worm potential clients get hotter in time (it may take from a week up to 12 months sometime, depending on what you are selling). As a result, he is still getting work to do for his team from this audience, thanks to the method we've used.

Working in website building business for the past 9 years, we have experienced the changes that came in this industry.

 

If you have followed the web industry, particularly WordPress, for the last decade you have probably noticed how it gradually shifted from HTML & CSS websites to WordPress Templates. Then came the templates or plugins that helped us Build our pages even more easily, until it finally became possible to create a website directly on the frontend without bothering how it will look after you heat the „Preview” button.

 

Yes, You got it right! There is such technology now. It's called Brizy. 

  

 

Web Hosting Provider – Namehero.com

 

During this 9 years we have switched between different hosting providers, but we finally stopped to namehero.com. This guys not only helped us successfully migrate our website to their hosting, but also replied to our cheat messages almost immediately every time we needed them. 

 

One extra ting they helped us with is SSL certification for a few migrated website, and they replied to our tickets in minutes (even if our timezone is different). While other hosting providers hide their livechat buttons, of make you wait for 20 minutes until you get to talk to someone, this guys are replying fast and help you fix the problem quick.

 

Domain name from Name.com 

 

 The most frustrating thing when you buy a domain name is when you buy something you don”t really need. It was often the case for our clients when they bought their first domain name. I'm not talking about buying a wrong domain name, but about all those ticks you don't know if you need them or not. The fact that you don't know exactly what services to buy ends up in paying more for a simple domain name. This is not the case with name.com. That's why we recommend them. Instead of making it complicated for you, they make it simple. So try them the next time you buy a domain name.

[Video] How to get more solar leads from Instagram. Tip #1.5 – Your Work Process

It is surprisingly strange how many people operate from the assumption that people actually know how to order the product or service they sell.

 

Of course, this comes from the assumption that “if it is obvious for me, it should be obvious to my customers also”. Yet they are trying to get more leads form Instagram, and are frustrated that this ”this thing doesn't work!”

 

So, one extra tip for how to get more solar leads from Instagram is to have your work process displayed as clear 3 steps process.

 

Your task: Create 3 separate Instagram posts: for STEP 1 (and describe it in a few words), STEP 2 and 3 , and do the same thing (describe this steps in a few clear words). And post them on your Instagram in the reverse order. 

 

 

Make sure you do the same on your website.

 

Here is an example of how we did it for one of our clients.  

This way you will automatically answer a bunch of question your leads may have, and this way, you will help them take the nest stept required to purchase.It is well known that when we know what to expect, it makes it easier for us to take certain decisions. So implement this idea right away and start getting more leads form Instagram for your solar business.

Tip #1: write your location, or the locations you operate in. Especially if you have  Instagram ads targeted for this location. 

 

Tip #2: Add a call to action together with your location. 

 

Tip #3: Don't add any other information like “hiring, relocating, etc” think about your visitors. You want to convert them into real Solar leads, so using a call to action is much more appropriate.

[Video] How to get more solar leads from Instagram. Tip #1.2 – Hashtag strategy

If you are like me, you also got frustrated when you were trying to pots your first photo with hashtags.

 

Searching for hashtags can be a tedious process. 

 

I get this. That's why we wrote this post and created this video. 

 

If you want to get more solar panel leads for your business, using Instagram can help a lot. 

 

That's why you need to learn how to use it, and this implies having a easy way to generate hashtags for your posts.  

Here is a easy way to do this:

 

First, do your research. Look for solar panel tags and write then down in a Evernote note, or notepad, or any other note taking software / app.

 

Second, try ti divide them in low and highly competitive. Low competitive hashtags are the ones that have lesser posts, and the ones that are being used less. 

 

Hint: To see how often a hashtag is being used look at the last 5 post and when they were posted. If they interval between them is something around a few days, you can be sure this is a low competitive hashtag. 

 

The opposite with highly competitive ones. If the interval between them is a few minutes.. you got the principle. Once you have this list in Evernote (or any other note taking app) group then together with 2-3 highly competitive in a group and the rest of them being low competitive. 

 

This way you will constantly be shown on most of the hashtags you've used and, at the same time, you will be trying to get on highly competitive hashtags also. 

 

As your followers grow and the more valuable and engaging content you will be creating, it will become more easy to get your post on those highly competitive hashtags. This strategy works when you are trying to get leads from Instagram.
